Homewood Suites at Flamingo Crossings Orlando

It's beginning to look alot like Christmas!



If you are looking for the perfect hotel to celebrate the holidays in December look no further!

Homewood Suites at Flamingo Crossings is a stunning hotel just off SR-429, they are a gateway hotel to Walt Disney World®, only 10 minutes away. There are many restaurants and golf courses within a few minutes. Also Orlando International Airport and downtown attractions are only about 27 miles away.



The rooms are super spacious and I love that the suites have a kitchen so you can cook and bring your own groceries. With Flamingo Crossings Town Center right across the street you have lots of shopping/restaurants like Target, Starbucks and lots of fun eating spots. So the best part is you do not have to drive. You can walk from the hotel! Also, if you have furry friends you can bring two dogs up to 75 pds for your holiday stay as well. (for an additional nightly charge)



Homewood Suites at Flamingo Crossings has alot of fun holiday activities for kids and adults going on the month of December. Weekly activities include building gingerbread houses, decorating holiday ornaments, and creating custom holiday stockings. Each decorating activity is just $20 per participant and includes a workshop full of paint, glitter, stickers and other supplies to create a one-of-a-kind keepsake, plus lots of holiday treats! (advanced registration required). A little elf told me there will also be several opportunities to cozy up for story time with Santa & Mrs. Claus, which is free of charge but includes the option to pay for a professional photo at the end of the holiday experience.



There will also be a special Happy Holiday Hour every afternoon from 5pm to 6 pm, with guests gathering in the lobby to enjoy fresh-baked cookies, hot chocolate for kids, and champagne/egg nog for adults. Kids can also join in on a fun Holiday Scavenger Hunt, visiting each of the four resort properties for holiday photo ops and they can even leave a letter for Santa!



Also every morning you can enjoy a hot breakfast! From eggs, bacon and to my personal favorite Mickey waffles!



Each of the four Walt Disney World Gateway Hotels is being professionally decorated inside and out with their own festive holiday theme. Christmas trees, sparkling lights, and holiday fun around every corner, with the scent of the holiday season in the air. (When I say the hotel smells like Christmas morning I mean it. One of the best smelling hotels I have ever stayed at.) All of the decorations are perfect for family pictures and greeting cards, also each resort will also feature holiday-themed photo walls.




We had such an enjoyable stay from the amazing staff, holiday fun and beautiful rooms. I can not wait to stay at the sister resorts in the new year and share with all of you. When you combine a perfect location, beautiful hotel and memories you will never forget.. you have a magical unforgettable vacation!

Tampa Bay's Tailgate Taste Fest 2022

Another amazing year has gone by for the Tampa Bay's Tailgate Taste Fest. I had the honor of being a judge for the 3rd year in a row and the event was amazing as always.



Never been to the Tampa Bay's Tailgate Taste Fest? It is A FREE, family-friendly event at Tampa's Curtis Hixon Park, Tailgate Taste Fest’s robust schedule includes activities for the casual event-goer and the ultimate sports fan alike. Entertainment consists of a food competition with local restaurants serving up the most delicious tailgate foods Tampa has to offer (which I had the fun of judging), live music from local bands, a competitive corn hole tournament and, of course, live action from the day’s most exciting college football games shown on huge LED video screens throughout the day!



Everyone was dressed in there sports attire and chowing down all of the amazing tailgate food. It was so fun seeing all of the different fans of all the teams getting along and having a great time with some beers, great music and fun times.



For this fun event you have the option of buying a VIT ticket (Very Important Tailgater) wristband. Your wristband includes:


  • Access to the VIT tent, with prime viewing of the main stage and LED screens

  • Unlimited tailgate snacks within the VIT tent courtesy of The Orenda Collective

  • Unlimited soda, water, beer, wine and liquor within the VIT tent

  • One (1) sample from each of the participating restaurants

  • Comfortable, upscale seating and dining accommodations within the VIT tent


Definitely worth the upgrade!


I tried so many amazing dishes from all of the participating restaurants it was hard to select a favorite dish! We had three categories for judging: Meat Dish, Side Dish and Dessert.

Diggy Dogs, Fuzzy's Taco Shop, American Social, Livy O's, Chez Shay's Sweets, New York New York Pizza, Odd Fellows, Jotoro, Spitsville, The Pub, Oronzo's, Bavaro's and Taste (Embassy Suites Tampa Downtown).
