Sarasota Stay-Cation - Embassy Suites Downtown

Have you ever just wanted to get away for a night or a few days and didn't want to make the long drive somewhere or couldn't afford it?

Something I have learned over the past few years that is some of the best get-a-ways are in your own backyard. Now stay-cations are my favorite kind of vacations!

I decided to venture over to one of my favorite hotels in downtown Sarasota for an overnight stay just to get away with my husband. Embassy Suites Downtown Sarasota is the perfect and affordable vacation with so many fabulous amenities and in walking distance from all the fun bars and restaurants.

In the past I have gone to Embassy Suites Downtown Sarasota for events, happy hour and dinner, all of which have been fabulous!

I was super excited to be able to actually stay over in one of there gorgeous hotel rooms this time. The view in my room was breathtaking during the day and night. I stayed in one of the corner suites. For the corner suites you not only enjoy excellent views of the Sarasota Bay with floor to ceiling wrap around windows but it also features a living room with sofa bed, 50-inch HDTV and well-lit work desk for you to be able to work from your room. You can heat snacks in the microwave and put your wine on ice in the mini-refrigerator. Also when staying in this suite it includes a free made-to-order breakfast and a free evening reception featuring beer, wine, premium and light snacks.

After getting settled into my room. I knew it was about that time..my favorite time..happy hour! I put all my luggage up and headed down stairs to the 8th floor (Bridges Restaurant) for there fabulous evening reception.

One of my favorite parts about there happy hour is the light snacks. Pretzels, Veggies with dips and salsa with chips.

The drinks are amazing as well and is complimentary with your room stay! How amazing is that!

Don't worry if you are not staying at the hotel the Bridges Restaurant has great happy hour prices for drinks and appetizers between 5:30pm and 7:30pm.

Another great highlight of the Embassy Suites Downtown Sarasota is the rooftop pool. You have stunning views of downtown Sarasota and the bay. You can grab a cocktail from inside the bar and sit outside and/or swim in the pool.

We decided to head back up to our room for a beautiful view of downtown Sarasota and the sunset. You can not beat this view my friends!

After the sun had set we decided to venture downtown Sarasota and go for a walk to find some dinner. We ended up sitting outside at Clasico Cafe Bar which is less than a five minute walk from the hotel. It was such a beautiful night. You can sit right on the street and watch everyone walk by which is one of my favorite things to do. We started with the cheese plate and I had the open face chicken pot pie which was to die for with a glass of Rose'.

We were stuffed and looking forward to our light walk back to the hotel. One more stop to Bridges Restaurant for an evening night cap... espresso martini (the best I have had) before heading back up to our room.

Before we went to bed we got another gorgeous view of downtown Sarasota from our room.

Overall the Embassy Suites Downtown Sarasota has so much to offer. Whether you are looking for just a night to get away or a few nights stay.. you are a hop and a skip from all the amazing attractions/restaurants that downtown Sarasota has to offer. You can not beat the price of the rooms and it includes your happy hour every night and your breakfast in the morning. How many hotels can you say do that with an affordable price and right in the heart of the cities downtown action.

Even if you are not looking for an overnight stay you can check out there amazing restaurant on the 8th floor - Bridges Restaurant. If you follow me you know how many times I have eaten there and the food is phenomenal.

Are you in need of a stay-cation with your family? What are you waiting for! Go ahead and book your trip at the Embassy Suites Downtown Sarasota. You will not be disappointed!
