Tampa Bay has a North Pole?

Well if you have ever wanted to travel to the North Pole without the frigid weather and airfare costs you are in luck!


The Godfrey Hotel & Cabanas Tampa have officially brought the holiday cheer for the whole month of December! The main event “Winterland” will have a number of rotating events throughout December and a 12 drinks of Christmas pop-up bar. The event is FREE on weekdays with the exception of private events and family-friendly until 9PM. Winterland is 21+ after 9PM.



I was lucky enough to enjoy the grand opening on December 5th with my husband. We decided to stay overnight so we could get the full holiday/hotel experience.


First off the hotel was beautiful and decked out with holiday spirit!



We checked into our King Bay View room. What a view! You could even see dolphins swimming in the distance. It was hard to leave the room with such a gorgeous room and view but we needed to get out and enjoy the holiday festivities at Winterland.



We hopped over to the WTR Pool Bar to try a few of the 12 drinks of Christmas. First drink was the Pomegranate Pipers Pippin which is Pomegranate juice & Rose' champagne! Delicious and the santa mug added to the tasty drink!



Vanilla Dove shot was next on the list! Amaretto liquor, Irish cream, Vanilla Vodka and a dash of nutmeg. This could have easily been a martini. I may have to recreate this as a Christmas eve cocktail for the family.



We then moved over to the fire-pit to warm-up by the fire. How often do we get to enjoy a fire in Florida? I was super excited! This obviously called from some Rose' champagne to add to the ambiance.


Next we visited all the different set-ups for the instagram pictures. My favorite was the Grinch Cave and the Christmas Story set-up!



We closed the night with a hot chocolate and egg nog. (How could you not?)



Overall the event had great Christmas tunes, fun picture opportunities and delicious unique Christmas cocktails. I highly recommend you check out the holiday fun when you can. It is going on the whole month of December.

Friday, December 14th (5PM to 9PM) – Ugly Sweaters & Toys for Kids: Come out to an ugly sweater party at The Godfrey benefiting families in need. Tickets are $10. Donate a used or new toy for a FREE cocktail.


Monday, December 24th (5PM to 9PM) – Christmas Eve Dinner with Mrs. Claus: Enjoy a holiday dinner on Christmas Eve featuring a ham carving station, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, stuffing, and more. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be in the Winterland this day. Tickets are $24.95 for adults and $12.95 for kids ages 6 to 12. 50% off for first-responders.


Tuesday, December 25th (11:30AM to 8PM) – Christmas Day Buffet: Celebrate Christmas Day with a holiday buffet. Tickets are $24.95 for adults and $12.95 for kids ages 6 to 12. 50% off for first-responders.
