It's that time of year again! The 13th Annual Forks & Corks had arrived and the weather was perfect!
If you read my blog post from last year you know that the 12th Annual Forks & Corks had to be moved to a later date in May because of the dangerous thunderstorms. A ton of rain is something you do not want to have to deal with while at the Ringling Museum. There is plenty of marble and tile so you are bound to slip!
This year we ended up with perfect weather! All sun and a beautiful cool breeze. We could not have asked for a better day for the grand tasting!
We started the Grand Tasting event off with the ritual of the Saber Champagne toast from Michael Klauber - President/Founder of Michael's on East. This toast always gets everyone excited the event!
I indulged in different dishes from array of local restaurant members of the Sarasota-Manatee Originals. Amazing bites for every taste bud! My favorite was the ceviche from "Eliza Ann's Coastal Kitchen", Deviled eggs from "Muse at The Ringling" and Fresh Tuna from "Opehlia's on the Bay". Honestly all of the dishes were amazing and you did not leave the event hungry!
Now for my favorite part of the event, all of the wines! There was a collection of more than 350 wines from around the world that were professionally tasted, judged and recognized as an award winner. All of there ribbons/medals were on display so you were able to see what wineries won what awards. This made it easy to figure out which ones were my favorite and I could take pictures to remember to purchase them later!
One of my favorite parts of the event is there is a retail tent available, where attendees are able to purchase various wines offered at Forks & Corks. Fun-filled fact: Forks & Corks is one of the only few festivals in the Southeast to provide the option to purchase award winning wines on-site during the event.
As always the Sarasota-Manatee Originals hit Forks & Corks 2020 out of the park! I had such an amazing time and I am already looking forward to next year!
