Forks & Corks 2019

Were you able to attend any of the Forks & Corks events this past week?

There were so many amazing winemaker pairing dinners offered at several Sarasota-Manatee Originals participating restaurants from May 2nd - 4th. These dinners gave you opportunities to learn more about the local restaurants, wineries and have them all paired into a fun educational event.

This year I was able to attend Forks & Corks University Master Class on Saturday - May 4th at Micheal's on East. Forks & Corks University Master Class is the ultimate way to meet the brightest and the best wines in world!

The event was a Wine Seminar led by seven world-renowned wine industry professionals and winemakers. We sipped and savored 14 wines from around the globe and were able to learn about each wine, winery and what goes into making each wine.

The Artisan Cheese Company also supplied a delicious Charcuterie board for us to pair all of our wines with.

After the Master Class we were able to try 50 wines from over 15 wineries at the Michael's Wine Cellar Retail Tasting. There were so many amazing wines and great deals so you could bring some of your favorites home with you!

After being able to try so many delectable wines I was ready for the Forks & Corks Grand Tasting at The Ringling the next day.

I have never been to Forks & Corks Grand Tasting so I was really excited. Even better the weather held off and it ended up being overcast which made for the perfect wine drinking outside weather!

When we arrived at Forks & Corks we were greeted with a Saber Champagne toast from Michael Klauber - President/Founder of Michael's on East. How fun! The toast got everyone excited to start the fun-filled day.

We explored amazing cuisine from 60 local restaurant members of the Sarasota-Manatee Originals. I am not sure what my favorite food was. I felt like all of the restaurants went all out and all of the flavors of the different dishes were perfection.

Now for the wines! There was a collection of more than 350 wines from around the world that were professionally tasted, judged and recognized as an award winner. All of there ribbons/medals were on display so you were able to see what wineries won what awards.

There also was a retail tent available, where attendees were able to purchase various wines offered at Forks & Corks. Fun-filled fact: Forks & Corks is one of the only few festivals in the Southeast to provide the option to purchase award winning wines on-site during the event.

Overall the Sarasota-Manatee Originals hit Forks & Corks 2019 out of the park! We had such an amazing time and I am already looking forward to next year!
